Why do laser cutting smoke and dust need to be rectified, and why is it equipped with fume extractor exhaust?

1. Current status of development trend In recent years, laser equipment has been widely used in the metal sheet material cutting industry, and the development trend of domestic CNC machine tools, laser cutting and CNC lathes has been rapid. As everyone knows, equipment manufacturers have less scientific research on the damage to the body and the natural environment caused by the smoke and dust caused by laser cutting of metal sheet materials. Some manufacturers take into account the cost and the internal air duct design is relatively simple, resulting in the actual effect of exhaust air. 

That's great. At this stage, imported laser cutting equipment is basically equipped with laser fume extractor as standard. Well-known Chinese brand manufacturers are also equipped with some laser cutting fume extractors, but most manufacturers are more casual, and some are just matched with an exhaust fan without undergoing a cut. The ash is discharged immediately, and some low-end cutting machines do not even match all fume extractor laser equipment.

2. Smoke and dust damage

(1) Under the principle of melting and cutting, the smoke and dust released are mainly metal material dust and thick smoke.

(2) Under the principle of O2 melting and cutting, depending on the different raw materials, the fumes released are mainly compounds, active zinc oxide and other hydroxides.

(3) If there is grease on the surface of metal materials, it may cause more complicated nitrogen oxide vapor and dust. Generally, there are xylene, xylene, indoor formaldehyde, o-xylene, formate, toluene, tolualdehyde, butylene. Alcohol, butyrate, etc.

(4) If a high-pressure polyethylene protective film is attached to the surface of the metal material, the key release of esters and cyclohexanol chemicals will cause a significant odor.

(5) 97% of atmospheric aerosols and dust caused by laser cutting are less than 5.7µm in diameter, which means that most of them can be absorbed into the body, causing respiratory system, skin diseases, and even carcinogens.

(6) A lot of smoke and dust caused not to be rectified immediately, not only environmental pollution, but also endangering the service life of the laser camera lens!
